Document Name Column Not Found

This error appears when the header column configured as the Document Name Column no longer exists in the source sheet.

This means that the header column previously selected as the Document Name Column has been deleted from the sheet.

How to Fix It

Choose one of the following options:

Option 1: Select Another Document Name Column

If you want to use a different column for document names:

1. Open Sheet Configuration.

2. Click Open next to Output Configuration.

3. Select Document Name from the navigation menu.

4. Choose another Document Name Column.

5. Save the Output Configuration.

6. Run the merge again.

Option 2: Restore the Deleted Header Column

If you accidentally deleted the original header column:

1. Restore the deleted header column in the source sheet.

2. Make sure the column contains filename values for all rows being processed.

3. Open Output Configuration and verify that the Document Name Column has been restored.

4. Run the merge again.

Why This Happens

This error usually occurs when:

• The header column configured as the Document Name Column was deleted from the sheet.

Important

Renaming or reordering header columns does not break the configuration. AnyMerge Docs tracks columns using internal identifiers, allowing existing configurations to survive changes to header names and column order.

Only deleting a header column removes the association and requires user intervention.

Tip

Choose a dedicated Document Name Column and avoid deleting it once your workflow is configured. This helps preserve your Output Configuration and prevents interruptions during document generation.
