The QR Code merge type converts values from your Google Sheets™ spreadsheet into QR codes and inserts them into the generated document.
QR codes are useful for membership cards, event tickets, product labels, certificates, inventory tracking, contact information, and any scenario where information should be quickly accessible by scanning.
Use this option to control the size of generated QR codes.
Select the desired QR code size to ensure it fits appropriately within your document layout.
Larger QR codes are generally easier to scan, especially when documents are printed.
When enabled, AnyMerge Docs shortens URLs using Bitly before encoding them into QR codes.
This option is available only if you have configured a Bitly Access Token in the Settings page.
Shortening URLs can reduce the amount of data encoded in the QR code, resulting in simpler QR codes that are often easier to scan.
Note: Make sure your source values contain valid URLs, including the http:// or https:// protocol. Otherwise, Bitly may return an error.
You can customize the appearance of generated QR codes to match your branding or document design.
Select the background color of the QR code.
Select the color of the QR code itself.
For best scanning results, use colors with strong contrast.
Similar to images, QR codes inserted into the document can also be made clickable.
This means readers can either:
Scan the QR code using a mobile device, or
Click the QR code directly within the document.
AnyMerge Docs provides several ways to configure QR code links.
Use values from another spreadsheet column as the destination links.
Each generated QR code can point to a different destination.
Use the same destination link for all generated QR codes.
This option is useful when all QR codes should direct readers to the same website, registration page, support article, or product page.
When enabled, AnyMerge Docs shortens the destination links using Bitly before assigning them to the clickable QR codes.
This option is available only if you have configured a Bitly Access Token in the Settings page.
In many scenarios, the value encoded in the QR code and the clickable destination link will be the same. However, they can be configured independently.
