Code 128
A flexible barcode suitable for product IDs, inventory, and general tracking. Supports uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, spaces, and common special characters. There is no fixed input length.

EAN-13
A standard barcode commonly found on retail products. Requires 12 or 13 digits. If you enter 12 digits, the final check digit is added automatically. If you enter 13 digits, the check digit must be valid.

EAN-8
A shorter retail barcode designed for small products with limited label space. Requires 7 or 8 digits. The check digit is added automatically when you enter 7 digits.

UPC-A
A retail barcode commonly used in North America. Requires 11 or 12 digits. The check digit is added automatically when you enter 11 digits.

UPC-E
A compact retail barcode for small product labels. Accepts 6 digits, with additional digits added automatically, or 8 digits starting with 0 or 1 and ending with a valid check digit.

Code 39
Commonly used for asset labels, equipment identification, and industrial tracking. Supports uppercase letters, numbers, spaces, and the special characters - . $ / + %. Lowercase letters are automatically converted to uppercase.

Code 93
A compact alternative to Code 39, often used for inventory and identification labels. Supports uppercase letters, numbers, spaces, and the special characters - . $ / + %. Lowercase letters are not supported.

ITF
A numeric barcode commonly used in warehouses and logistics. Accepts numbers only, and the value must contain an even number of digits.

ITF-14
Used to identify shipping cartons and outer product packaging. Requires 13 or 14 digits. If you enter 13 digits, the final check digit is added automatically.

MSI
A numeric barcode commonly used for inventory and stock tracking. Accepts one or more digits, with no fixed input length.

Pharmacode
A barcode primarily used for quality control in pharmaceutical packaging. Accepts a whole number between 3 and 131070.

Codabar
Traditionally used in libraries, laboratories, and blood banks. Supports numbers and the special characters - $ : / . +. You can optionally add A, B, C, or D at the beginning and end of the value. If omitted, A is added automatically at both ends.

A check digit is an additional digit used to help detect errors when scanning a barcode. For supported formats, it is calculated automatically when omitted.
Leading zeros matter. If your identifiers begin with zero, format the corresponding Google Sheets™ cells as Plain text before entering the values to prevent the zeros from being removed.
