This error appears when you start document generation without selecting a template for the current sheet.
AnyMerge Docs requires a Google Docs™ template to generate documents. The template defines the structure and content of the generated documents.

Open the Sheet Configuration section.
Locate the Template setting.
Click Select.
Choose the Google Docs™ template you want to use.
Run the merge again.

This error usually occurs when:
No template has been selected for the current sheet.
You switched to a different sheet that has not been configured yet.
The sheet configuration was never completed.

Each sheet has its own configuration. If you're working with multiple sheets, make sure the correct template has been selected for the active sheet before generating documents.
