The Main Screen is where you start document generation.
Once your setup is complete, most of your time in AnyMerge Docs will be spent here.
The Main Screen allows you to:
Select which rows should be processed
Review how many rows will be generated
Start document generation
Monitor progress
Cancel processing at any time
The interface is intentionally simple so you can focus on generating documents instead of navigating through multiple screens.
The Sheet Configuration icon opens the configuration screen where you can:
Select a source sheet
Choose a template
Configure Merge Mappings
Review Output Configuration
Select an output folder
Most users only need to visit this screen when setting up a new document generation workflow.
The Settings icon provides access to:
Free Plan information
Subscription activation
Bitly Access Token settings

The Main Screen allows you to choose which rows should be processed.
Processes all data rows in the current source sheet.
Use this option when generating documents for all records.
Continues processing from the first row that has not yet been processed.
This is useful when returning to a previously interrupted job or when processing newly added records.
Processes only the rows currently selected in Google Sheets™.
Use this option when you need to generate documents for specific records.
Begins processing at the selected row and continues to the end of the sheet.
This is useful when processing records in batches.
The processing summary shows where generation will begin and how many rows will be processed based on the selected processing mode.
Reviewing the summary before generating documents helps prevent accidental processing of unintended rows.
Click GENERATE to begin document generation.
Before processing starts, AnyMerge Docs validates the configuration to ensure everything is set up correctly.
For example, the add-on verifies that:
A template has been selected
The template contains merge tags
All merge tags have Merge Mappings configured
The Output Configuration is valid
The selected rows can be processed
If validation fails, the add-on explains what needs to be corrected before generation can continue.
Once generation begins, the Main Screen switches into processing mode.
The row selection controls are hidden and the GENERATE button changes to CANCEL, allowing you to stop processing at any time.
Progress indicators display the current processing stage, such as:
Merging text values
Processing images
Generating QR codes
Finalizing documents
The exact stages shown depend on the Merge Mappings used by the current job.
During processing, AnyMerge Docs displays:
Elapsed Time
Remaining Time
Remaining time becomes available after the first document has been generated and is automatically updated as processing continues.
This helps you estimate how long larger document generation jobs will take.
The Main Screen is designed to keep document generation fast, simple, and transparent, whether you are generating a few documents or processing large batches of records.
